Breath of Fire was founded in 2004 by Cornelia Kauhs, together with her daughters Pernelle and Maya Rochat.
That same year, Cornelia had the idea of creating a clothing brand made from organic cotton—durable and comfortable garments, entirely designed in a yogic spirit and grounded in holistic values. Breath of Fire brought a fresh perspective to the fashion world, particularly in terms of sustainability and ethics. In 2009, the brand partnered with a small family-owned company based in Portugal, specialized in children’s clothing and GOTS-certified.
Breath of Fire does not follow the dictates of the fashion industry, which demands constant renewal of collections each season. This deliberate choice allows the brand to take the time to carefully select designs, colors, and materials in order to create organic clothing that is both durable and aesthetically refined—using non-chemical dyes that respect the environment.
For over ten years, Breath of Fire has remained committed to producing sustainable and comfortable clothing.
Even today, the textile industry is still the second most polluting industry in the world. Changing consumption habits in the fashion sector is the deeper purpose that drives this project.
